Devices and agent versions
Read device health, send commands such as Sync now and Check for update, request a webcam photo, pin or roll back agent versions, and deauthorize devices.
The Devices page lists every enrolled agent with its health, permissions, offline buffer and version. From here you can nudge an agent to sync, request an update, decide which agent version your workspace runs, and remove a device you no longer trust.
Read the device list#
Go to WorkspaceDevices. The list refreshes every 30 seconds. Filter by health or operating system, or search by hostname, person or version.
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| Device / Member | The computer’s hostname and who it belongs to. |
| Agent | The agent version. A pin badge shows a pinned version; a small badge shows the agent’s own CPU and memory use, measured on the device every 10 minutes (the budget is under 2% CPU and 200 MB). |
| Ownership | Company-owned or personal (BYOD). Personal devices never run the Silent variant. |
| Mode / State | The tracking mode from the policy, and what the agent is doing now: tracking, idle, paused, outside the window and so on. |
| Health | Healthy, Needs attention, Offline or Deauthorized — see below. |
| Permissions | Screen recording, accessibility and input monitoring. On Windows screen recording shows as granted only after a real capture has worked. |
| Buffer / Errors | Events waiting to upload, and capture errors since the last check-in. |
| Last heartbeat | When the agent last checked in. Agents check in every minute. |
Health#
| Health | What it means |
|---|---|
| Healthy | Checked in within the last 3 minutes with no problems. |
| Needs attention | Checked in, but reported capture errors or a denied permission — for example a screenshot failed, or the offline buffer filled up and dropped screenshots. |
| Offline | No check-in for more than 3 minutes. Usually the computer is off or asleep; captured data waits in the offline buffer. |
| Deauthorized | The device token was revoked; the agent no longer captures or uploads. |
Send a command to a device#
Open a device’s row menu (the ⋯ button). Agents pick up commands within a minute.
| Action | What it means |
|---|---|
| Sync now | Upload anything waiting in the offline buffer. |
| Refresh policy | Fetch the latest resolved policy straight away instead of at the next check-in. |
| Check for update | Look for a newer agent version now instead of waiting for the hourly check. |
| Request webcam photo… | Ask for one webcam verification photo. You must give a reason; it works only where the person’s policy allows webcam and they have opted in, and it’s audit-logged. |
| Pin version… / Roll back one version / Remove pin | Control the agent version for this one device (see below). |
| Deauthorize | Revoke the device token. The agent stops capturing and uploading; data already synced is kept. |
What the member sees
Control agent versions#
New agent versions roll out in stages: a small share of devices gets a release first, then more, then everyone. Agents check for updates shortly after starting and then hourly, verify the download, install it silently and restart. The Agent versions card at the bottom of the Devices page controls this for your workspace.
| Setting | What it means |
|---|---|
| Pause updates | No new versions are offered to your devices. Rollbacks still apply. |
| Workspace version | Latest (staged rollout), or pin one version for every device. Pinning an older version rolls the whole workspace back. |
| Channel | Stable, or Beta for early builds. |
Pin or roll back a single device#
Open the device’s menu
On WorkspaceDevices, open the row menu for the device.
Choose the version
Choose Pin version…, pick a Version, add a Reason (audit log) such as waiting on a fix, and choose Pin version. Or choose Roll back one version to pin the release before the one it’s running.
Wait for the next check
The agent switches at its next update check, within an hour. Choose Remove pin to let it follow the workspace version again.
A device pin always beats the workspace version. Every pin, rollback and pause is recorded in the audit log.
