Notifications and the weekly summary

What you’re notified about, choosing in-app or email for each, quiet hours, and the Monday summary of your week.

TimeLogger tells you when something needs your attention or changes what’s collected about you — in the app, by email, or both. You choose where each kind reaches you, and can set quiet hours so emails wait until morning.

Who can do this:MemberEveryone.

The notification bell#

The bell in the top bar shows a dot with the number of unread notifications. Choose it to see the latest ones, open the page they’re about, or choose Mark all read. When there’s nothing new, the panel tells you so.

What you’re notified about#

KindWhat it means
Timesheet approvalsTimesheets sent to you for approval, and the outcome of yours — including the comment if changes are requested.
RemindersA nudge when last period’s timesheet isn’t submitted, or when approvals are waiting for you.
Desktop agent healthWhen an agent can’t capture, or hasn’t checked in for a long while.
Live viewWhen someone views your screen live. Always shown in the app.
Account securitySign-in security changes such as turning two-step verification on or off. Always on.
Tracking policy changesAdvance notice before more is collected about you, and again when it starts. Always on.
Weekly summaryA Monday email with your own last week: hours, top projects and activity. Email only; you can turn it off.

Advance notice of changes

If your organisation changes your policy so that more is collected about you, you’re told before it starts — usually a week ahead — with a plain-language list of what changes and when. This notice can’t be switched off. Changes that collect less apply straight away without a notice.

Choose where notifications reach you#

  1. Open your preferences

Go to MeMy data & privacy and scroll to Notifications, or choose Notification settings in the bell’s panel.

  2. Switch In app and Email on or off for each kind

Switches that are dimmed can’t be turned off, because they’re about your own data or account.

  3. Set quiet hours (optional)

Turn on Quiet hours and choose From and Until. Emails wait until quiet hours end, in your own time zone. Security emails still arrive straight away.

The weekly summary#

Every Monday morning (09:00 your time) you get an email about your previous week: tracked, active, idle and away time, self-reported and unassigned time, your top three projects and your activity level — with the same caveat you see in the app. It’s the same data your manager can see about you. If you didn’t track anything that week, no email is sent.

Questions#

I’m getting too many emails.
Turn off Email for the kinds you don’t need, or set quiet hours. TimeLogger also never sends you more than ten notification emails an hour; the rest wait.
Why can’t I turn off tracking policy changes?
Being told in advance when more will be collected about you is a disclosure duty, so it’s always on.
