Your data and privacy
What’s collected about you, exporting your data, asking for erasure, webcam consent and two-step verification.
MeMy data & privacy is where you see exactly what TimeLogger collects about you, who can see it and how long it’s kept — and where you download your data, ask for it to be erased, manage webcam consent and secure your sign-in.
What we collect#
The page is titled Tracking is on — here’s what we collect. It’s a live, plain-language rendering of the policy that applies to you right now, so if your policy changes, this page changes with it.
| Card | What it means |
|---|---|
| What we collect | Only while tracking is on, and only what your policy allows — for example apps and domains, keyboard and mouse counts, screenshots. |
| What we never collect | Keystroke content, clipboard, audio, message bodies, your location, attendance or pay. Not stored, not buffered on your device, not in the database. |
| Who can see it | Your manager and workspace admins, within their role. You can always see everything they see about you. |
| How long it’s kept | For example “Screenshots and webcam images are deleted after 90 days.” Time entries and notes are kept for your records. |
| Consent history | Each time you acknowledged a tracking disclosure, recorded against the exact policy version. |
Export your data#
Choose Export everything (ZIP)
Under Export my data. The ZIP contains everything held about you — entries, activity, consents, audit events — plus your screenshot and webcam images.
Wait for “Preparing your ZIP…”
Large exports take a minute. You can keep working.
Choose Download ZIP
The link works for 24 hours. Only you can download it — not your manager, not an admin.
Need just the data without images? Data only (JSON) downloads straight away.
Ask for your data to be erased#
Choose Request erasure
Add a reason if you like (for example “I’m leaving the company”) and choose Send request.
Your admin processes it
The request goes to your workspace admin and is logged. You can follow its status on the same card: “Received — waiting for an admin”, “Being processed”, “Completed” or “Declined”.
You receive a signed certificate
When it’s done, your account is closed and a signed certificate is emailed to you, listing what was deleted and what had to be kept, with the reason.
What may be kept
Webcam checks#
If your organisation’s policy includes webcam verification photos, a Webcam checks card appears here. Photos only happen after you opt in:
Read the consent text
It explains exactly what’s taken and when. The card shows “Off until you opt in” until you agree.
Tick “I have read this and I agree to webcam checks”
Then choose Opt in to webcam checks. Your agreement is recorded with the exact text and time.
You can choose Withdraw consent at any time; webcam capture stops at your devices’ next check-in. If the consent text changes, webcam checks turn off until you agree again. In some places — Illinois, for example — written consent is required by law, and the card says so.
Sign-in security (two-step verification)#
Two-step verification asks for a code from your phone as well as your password. Your workspace owner may require it for everyone.
Choose Turn on two-step verification
On the Sign-in security card. You’ll need an authenticator app such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy.
Choose Set up two-step verification and scan the QR code
Can’t scan? The page shows a key you can type into the app instead.
Enter the 6-digit code and choose Turn on
Save your recovery codes
You get ten recovery codes. Each signs you in once if you lose your phone. They won’t be shown again — keep them somewhere safe, like a password manager.
Signing in with two-step verification#
After your password, enter the 6-digit code from your app. Lost your phone? Choose Use a recovery code. The card also shows how many recovery codes you have left, and New recovery codes replaces them. If you’ve lost both, an admin can reset two-step verification for you.
